Founded in 2004, the Black Weblog Awards is the Internet’s premier awards event celebrating Black bloggers, podcasters, and video bloggers. The Black Weblog Awards was a Lunch media property until it was acquired in 2011.
Initially, the Black Weblog Awards website needed a simple website to display winners and include a blog for visitors. As the event grew, it also needed a way for people to nominate and vote for blogs and podcasts, along with keeping up with the growing trends in web design.
Throughout the event, Lunch was responsible for building the website, creating and managing all content, designing all applicable logos, branding, and other brand objects, setting up partnerships with new media organizations for a custom back-end voting system, managing gifts, and overseeing a small staff of volunteers.
After being acquired in 2011, Lunch remained as a creative consultant for the event.SEE PROJECT
